As a Disability Confident Employer, we were delighted to be invited by MP Alok Sharma, to speak at the important Disability Confident event, encouraging businesses in Reading to sign up to the scheme.

Members of our employee disability champion network, Danny Green and Frankie Tipton (and guide dog Vic!) highlighted some of the great initiatives and support we have in place at Thames Water to maximise the talents that people with disabilities contribute.

We’re committed to building an inclusive culture and attracting diverse talent to help serve our customers. We have several Disability Champions who help provide support, advice and encouragement to those who have disabilities, helping them on their career journeys, and we also run our award-winning Give Someone a Start scheme to provide an alternative way into work for those seeking opportunities.

This is great that thames water give those with disabilitys a throw at the dice, to employ these people and find what skills they have, then employ them in a job they can do.more companys should do the same, give those with a disability a chance, its a matter of finding there positives and negatives and place them in employment that they can do,they have lots to offer.
